The easiest way to block a particular address from sending mail to your account is to use the "Block address" link. This is located next to the "Add to Address Book" link, to the right of the email address of people who send to your account. By clicking on this link, you will add the sender's address to your "Blocked List" of up to 100 addresses which you would like to not receive mail from. 2.. If you want the mail to reach your account and go directly to the Trash (where you have the option to read it before you empty it), you can set up filters to do so. Click "Options" from the left hand navigation bar, then click "Filters". Create a filter to match some unique part of the sender's address. Generally a name or phrase in the body of the message works well, but as long as the sender always uses the same mailing address, filtering based on the "From" field is very effective. Set the destination folder to "Trash", and save the filter. Note that using filters to avoid unwanted mail does not actually stop the mail from being received. The mail will arrive in your account and appear as unread messages in your Trash folder, and will be deleted the next time your Trash folder is emptied. 3.. Yahoo! Mail uses a Spam Guard on all of your incoming mail, to protect your account from a list of known spamming domains. You don't have to take any "steps" to do this; this feature is automatically in place. 4.. If you receive harassing or unwanted mail from what appears to be a yahoo.com address, you can forward the message directly to us at abuse@yahoo.com. Please include an unedited copy of the original message along with the full headers (the headers are the part of the message that includes the To/From information). To display full headers in Yahoo! Mail, select "Options" from the left hand navigation bar. Then choose "Preferences". Under the topic "Show headers", select "all". Then click "Save Settings" to confirm the changes, and return to the message. If you are forwarding the message to us from a Yahoo! Mail account, please choose the option to forward it "as attachment" (in the drop-down menu next to the "Forward" button). This will ensure that the full headers are included in the message we receive. We take the operation of Yahoo! Mail very seriously and appreciate your working with us to keep Yahoo! a friendly email environment. 5.. If you receive unwanted mail from a non- yahoo.com address, unfortunately there is nothing we can do on our end to prevent this. You may try contacting the sender's email provider, by identifying the sender's domain and contacting the administrator of that domain. ----- Original Message ----- From: <*****@mcooper.demon.co.uk> Newsgroups: yahoo.mail.cn-mail-abuse To: Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2003 6:54 AM Subject: Spam_intl - liuqinhou23 - @yahoo.com.cn >> >> Name: Mark Cooper >> >> Yahoo!
